Expecting Output:

Visual Design,Product Design,Service Plan

Topic Description

“Design is the method of putting form and content together. Design just as art, has multiple definitions; there is no single definition. Design can be art. Design can be aesthetics. Design is so simple, that is why it is so complicated.”

This workshop is designed to strengthen the sequential thinking ability of the participants using the traditional tools of design thinking of Heart, Heart, Eye coordination as pioneered by Herbert Bayer, repackaged by Tim Brown and Jacob Goldenberg of Insidethebox and presented as “Design Thinking”. The primary aim of this workshop is to unblock established ways of thinking, feeling and willing through a deep examination of their processes. What is Your Manifesto? Do you have a personal manifesto that you’d like to share? How about a manifesto that you’ve always admired?

The aim of the workshop is to create a series of sequential images that correspond to the manifesto that you have preferably written yourself in order to achieve best results/growth. We will be working from ideas to words to storyboard. The outcome is completely open ended and can take the form a book, a film/animation, a sculpture, etc. As designers, we must become media and platform agnostic. Due to the long duration of the workshop you will be expected to come up with a high-quality result and demonstrate the equivalent of two weeks of work. Expecting output
2 – 4 spreads and front cover design of a cookbook

Topic Description

Designing a book which is not only visually stunning but showcases your creativity. You are the author of this book ; it contains recipes and visuals and it wants to be so interesting to you, you can’t stop playing/designing it. It can be a valuable addition to your portfolio but it is above all a personal project; something which you are interested in creating and designing. Designing a book involves acute attention
to detail – You need to know what your audience will be visually captured by, and put the time and effort into creating it as a piece of art in its own right.Nowhere other is this more true than in the design of cookbooks –of all the genres to design; cookbook design is truly one of the most interesting, and unique. This brief requires you to design / illustrate a cookbook. It can be typeset or hand written. Once you have decided what sort of cook book you would like to do, obtain the relevant recipes and list of ingredients from the internet. You can actively use emerging technologies to expand the range of
imagery and develop the concept of what a cookbook actually is.

If you want to add more, there’s no stopping you. Slipcases, fold-up posters, and inserts – anything you think will add to the experience of owning your cookbook. Visuals are very important. You can use anything from old botanical illustrations to editorial photography, prints or even collage. Remember
that you’re designing a cookbook, but don’t forget that food has history and culture within its own right, so if you think your book could do with the odd page or spread that visualises this, don’t be afraid to experiment.

Tools for Collaboration
Your imagination and the ability to play visually, then Adobe InDesign, a camera or your smart phone camera, a scanner (optional)
Schedule
Research:there will be a 45 minute visual presentation showing a vast range of visual approaches to Cookbooks, this hopefully will get the creativity fired up, and can be starting points for your ideas concepts. Followed by questions & answers.

Topic Description

Let's dive into the magic of small local businesses. You know, those cute shops and spots that are owned by people from our own neighborhoods. When we choose to support them instead of big national or international chains, something cool happens.

Picture this: When we buy stuff from these local gems, more of our money stays right here in our community. It's like a boomerang that comes back to us. This means our friends who run businesses get a boost, our neighbors who might be going through a tough time get some help, and our local farms get a thumbs-up too. It's like giving our community a high-five!

And guess what? These local businesses do things differently. They like to buy things from nearby, so things don't have to travel too far. That's good for the environment and our roads, because it means less traffic and pollution. They also set up shop in our town centers, so we don't have to drive all over the place. That's like a win-win for everyone.

But that's not all. When you walk into one of these local places, it's like entering a friend's house. The people working there really know what they're selling, and they want to get to know you too! It's not just about buying stuff – it's about connecting with the people behind the counter. They're like part of our community family.

So, let’s immagine an event that can give your local businesses a new chance, helping your community thrive. It will be like putting a smile on your neighborhood's face!
