Topic Description

In today's society, the fashion industry has become an important form of cultural expression, and glasses, as an important part of fashion products, their design has also become the focus of people. The earliest glasses in China came from foreign envoys as tribute in the 15th century. From the product form of glasses to the beginning of China, they are inextricably linked with the central axis. China-Chic glasses, as a new fashion accessory, are of great value in the field of cross-cultural research, reflecting the blending of Eastern and Western cultures.

The central axis is an important axis in China's urban planning, Beijing's central axis starting from the Bell and Drum Tower in the north, ending at Yongdingmen in the south, and running through the urban area of Beijing. This thousand-year-old cultural heritage not only witnesses the development and changes of Beijing, but also reflects the profound heritage and unique charm of Chinese traditional culture. (Central axis points from north to south: Bell and Drum Tower—Wanning Bridge—Jingshan—Forbidden City—Sheji Altar/Ancestor Temple—Duanmen—Tiananmen—Waijinshui Bridge—Tiananmen Square buildings—Zheng Yangmen—Xiannongtan/Tiantan—Road remains in the southern section of the central axis—Yongdingmen)

This work group relies on the product form of glasses to explore the fashion expression of cultural elements on the central axis, as well as the mutual influence and integration between Chinese and Western cultures. Taking the design of China-Chic glasses as a bridge for cross-cultural communication can enhance cross-cultural understanding and communication, reflect the new height of Chinese fashion and culture, and show the unique charm and confidence of Chinese culture. This is an important value in the research of the axis culture of China-Chic glasses. Relying on the real problems of enterprises, the workshop will connect with the Shenzhen 2023 Beijing Central Axis Cultural Heritage Inheritance and Innovation Competition and the Henggang Optical Contest IGC, etc. The results of the workshop will be selected for industrial transformation, truly realizing the connection between creative design and business.
